Thulani Sundu is a dynamic and highly skilled South African storyteller, with extensive experience across screenwriting, storylining, and directing for television drama. Fluent in Xhosa and English, with strong Zulu proficiency, Thulani brings a culturally nuanced voice to his work, grounded in authenticity and emotional depth. A graduate of AFDA Johannesburg with a BA in Motion Picture Medium, Thulani further honed his academic foundation with a year of fourth-level Drama and Film studies at Wits University. His formal training and deep passion for storytelling have propelled him into prominent writing and directing roles within some of the country's most influential production houses, including Tshedza Pictures and Black Brain Pictures.
Thulani's television credits include working as a scriptwriter and storyliner on the acclaimed Showmax Original series Adulting. He was also a contributing writer and director on Gqeberha: The Empire (Season 1), and previously worked as both a writer and storyliner on the Mzansi Magic hit telenovela DiepCity across its first two seasons. In 2024, Thulani was entrusted as Head Writer for the 13-part drama Mpondoland (Origins Pictures), showcasing his leadership and creative vision in driving a narrative from concept to execution. He also worked as a scriptwriter on Isiphetho: Destiny for ETV.
