On 20 September 2018, Cynthia Jezi walked into a police station and confessed to killing her husband. This is not the story of how he died. Instead, it’s the story of what happened after and why Cynthia confessed to a crime she didn’t commit. This is, ‘The Confession’.

On the show, powerful lawyer Phumla Sokhela is forced to question whether or not she convicted the wrong woman while balancing career ambitions and a challenging domestic life. The result is a rich tale of secrecy exploring the price people are willing to pay to protect their reputations. 

The Confession is written and directed by SAFTA-nominated scriptwriter Sihle Mthembu, who is also known for his work on shows like The Queen and The Herd.
